Andy worked as a consultant with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for four years. He evaluated the business and financial operations of 70 public school districts. Previously he spent seven years in both the public education and public sectors. He was the Director of Finance and Operations at the Nashoba Regional School District from 1999 to 2002. Before working at Nashoba he was the Director of Finance for the Town of Griswold in Connecticut. From 1996 to 1999, he held the position of School Business Manager for the Nantucket Public Schools. Andy is certified as a School Business Manager by the State of Massachusetts, qualified as a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations by the Association of School Business Officials, and is a Certified Government Finance Manager by the Association of Government Accountants. Andy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.
ED Dunn - Vice President
Ed Dunn joined TMS in 2009 after working in Public and Private Schools for 31 years. His experience as a teacher, department head, housemaster, principal, and district-wide director of curriculum has provided him with a thorough understanding of how schools and school finance work. As a career educator, Ed’s primary focus has been to close the gap between what research shows is effective instructional practice and what happens on a daily basis in the classroom.
As a consultant for Teachers21 & Scantron, Ed conducted professional development workshops in the areas of curriculum planning, the use of assessment data to inform instruction, standards based instruction, differentiated instruction, and grade reporting.
Ed graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in English & Classical Studies and earned a Master’s degree in English from Duke University. He later participated in the CAGS Educational Leadership program at Bridgewater State and completed the National Institute for School Leadership Program (NISL).
In his time with TMS he primarily worked with the Ludlow (since 2009) and Belchertown (since 2010) School districts as their School Business Consultant.
Dr. Judith Houle - Vice President of Entrepreneurship
Judy has thirty-four years of experience in education. She first started as a music teacher, both at the elementary and high school levels. After teaching she has been a building principal, director of curriculum, assistant superintendent, and superintendent in three states (Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont). Judy has worked in a non-profit educational service agency (New England School Development Council) as a Director of Professional Development and as an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at the University of Hartford, where she taught courses on educational policy, finance and staff supervision, supervised administrative internship, and directed doctoral level research.
Mark Chapulis - Senior Finance Consultant
Mark has over 23 years of experience in project and operations management, workflow design, budgeting and expense control, working for two of the largest insurers in Massachusetts. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in both Management and Finance from Bryant College
Chris Desjardins – Senior Finance Consultant
Mr. Desjardins began working with TMS in 2012 after twenty years of financial experience with Country Bank in Ware, MA. From 1992 to 2012, Mr. Desjardins held many positions, most recently First Vice President of Finance/Risk Management, where he handled all aspects of financial reporting, income modeling, and risk management. After a brief departure from TMS to serve as Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer in 2016-2017 at North Brookfield Savings Bank, he is now back full time. His primary roles at TMS are business management duties in Hadley, MA and East Windsor, CT.
Mr. Desjardins has served on the Ware School Committee since 2004, holding the position of Chair for seven years. Mr. Desjardins graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Worcester State College, with a double concentration of Finance and Marketing, and a minor in Media. He is also a graduate of the Massachusetts Bankers School for Financial Studies and the Stonier National Graduate School of Banking, where he graduated with honors.
Marc Richard - Finance Consultant
Marc Richard comes to TMS with over 20 years of experience in personnel management, business operations management and project management in the financial services and food and beverage management industry.
While working in financial services at The Hanover Insurance Group, Marc held several management positions in business operations and was a Director in Information Technology Services. Marc led process improvement initiatives, managed projects and directed departments and support staff to meet delivery, quality and budget goals.
Prior to this, Marc was on the management team for food and beverage operations at several ski resorts and summer resort/recreation areas in the Northeast. Marc managed all aspects of operations and administration including human resources, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable for each resort.
In addition, Marc has experience as a High School History Teacher in the Holyoke Public Schools.
Currently, Marc’s primary roles at TMS are business management of the CHARMS Collaborative School in Stoughton, MA, and The Massachusetts Virtual Academy at Greenfield, in Greenfield, MA.
Marc has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with a concentration in Secondary Education from Assumption College and a Master of Business Administration from Assumption College. Marc holds project management certification from Worcester State College and has completed leadership training from Boston University.
Greg Runyan - Consultant
Greg Runyan has 15 years in education as a high school mathematics and computer science teacher, building level administrator, and curriculum director. Prior to his career in education, Greg was a management consultant with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) and The Yankee Group where he worked on large back office business systems and consulted with companies in the business technology space.
Presently, Greg's primary role with TMS is as the Interim Director of Curriculum and Digital Learning at the Massachusetts Virtual Academy at Greenfield where he supervises 22 teachers teaching over 700 students in grades K-12 located throughout Massachusetts.
Greg holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Vermont, an M.Ed. in Mathematics Education from UMass Amherst, and an M.Ed. in Organizational Management from Endicott College.
